I am a sincere believer in the power of architecture to improve our lives. With that ethos in mind, I aspire to create work that is as innovative as it is timeless, as optimistic as it is pragmatic, as elegant as it is simple; a sincere and honest architecture rooted in craft, sustainability and creativity. I am inspired as much by the beauty of nature as by the brilliance of the human spirit, and I believe architecture can and must exist in harmony with both
Principles
MINIMALISM
A holistic view of minimalism, seeking not just an uncluttered visual language, but a total design where every element contributes to the project and experience.
HOLISTIC SUSTAINABILITY
A thorough consideration for the whole life of a design, and its impacts on the environment and community. Though the environment is and always should be central to the design, the designer should never stop at fulfilling environmental checklists, but should understand that their work will outlive them, and seek to always be in harmony with its environment, and be adaptable to the changes it will inevitably witness.
HARMONIOUS INTEGRATION
Rejecting the mode of thinking where context is an afterthought or a checklist. Architecture should exist in harmony with, and embrace, its natural environment and the culture it belongs to. Nature and culture as inspiration, never as backdrops.
MATERIAL AND CONSTRUCTIVE HONESTY
Craft as the root of all design. Appreciating the beauty of parts unsung. With it, a care for objects and an embrace of technology, expressed honestly and beautifully at every opportunity.
